The Spark – Classic Longboard for Effortless Fun
The Spark is our longest-serving longboard, and its longevity comes down to one thing: a simple, uncluttered shape that works. Designed with a clean outline and continuous flow from nose to tail, the Spark is a classic longboard built for maximum fun, glide, and wave count.

The rocker profile is medium-low, with enough lift in the nose to prevent purling on take-off and just enough tail kick to help the board turn easily and confidently. Underneath, the bottom shape runs from single concave through the midsection into double concave, finishing with a subtle ‘V’ in the tail, delivering smooth trim, easy rail-to-rail transitions, and controlled turns.

The rail profile is exactly what you’d want on a classic mal. Medium-full and rounded through the middle for stability, becoming boxy and harder in the tail for drive and control, and tucked and higher in the nose to keep things forgiving and predictable.

Designed to surf the waves we find in Cornwall

The Spark is all about stability, ease of use, and pure enjoyment, performing best in the small to medium-sized waves we regularly experience here in Cornwall. This is a longboard that delivers a high wave count and effortless glide, making it ideal for relaxed sessions and everyday surf.

You’ll find yourself:
Catching waves easily
Trimming and gliding effortlessly
Learning drop-knee turns
Increasing your step count as you walk to the nose
The philosophy of the Spark is simple: just have fun.

Construction & Materials

This particular Spark was hand-shaped by Bill using a \Marko Surfboard foam EPS blank. Marko are widely regarded as producing the finest expanded polystyrene blanks available. This blank features no traditional wooden stringer, so to complement the construction and add strength, a carbon tape stringer has been added down the centre of the board on both the deck and bottom.

As EPS blanks require epoxy resin, the board is laminated accordingly:
Bottom: Single 6oz cloth with tail reinforcement
Deck: 2 × 6oz cloth
Carbon stringer: Top and bottom for added stiffness, spring, and durability

The result is a longboard that feels lively underfoot while remaining strong enough for regular use.
